About the role
Marioff Italy is entering an important phase of industrial growth and transformation.
To support this evolution, we are seeking a senior operations leader who will play a key role in strengthening and scaling our industrial capabilities, while leading the transition towards a more structured, modern, customer focused and efficient organization.
Marioff Italy Operations Director role holds end‑to‑end operational accountability, covering manufacturing, sourcing, and internal logistics, this role will lead the lean transformation of Italian Operations and ensures the safety working environment and quality of services and product according to the customer expectations.
The Operations Director will be responsible for driving the evolution of the current operations model, improving industrial performance, and assessing the need for new production facility together with Marioff Group Operations Organization.
This is a highly strategic and hands-on role, requiring strong execution capabilities, credibility on the shop floor, and proven experience in industrial transformation within entrepreneurial or medium-sized industrial environments, where processes, organization and culture evolve together.
Your main responsibilities will be:
Manufacturing Transformation & Operational Excellence

Lead the evolution of the manufacturing model towards a structured, cost effective, scalable and process-driven organization to meet the business growth targets

Assess need for new production facility and in case needed

Introduce and strengthen lean manufacturing principles, industrial standards and operational discipline based on Marioff Group Standards

Ensure compliance with quality, safety and environment management systems and standards and enhance operations’ safety culture

Define and implement KPIs to improve productivity, quality, safety, delivery performance and operational efficiency

Drive cost competitiveness and manufacturing performance through better planning, resource utilization and process optimization
Sourcing and Logistics

Lead factory‑level sourcing in alignment with group sourcing strategies

Ensure material and service availability for production and customer deliveries

Drive cost competitiveness and supplier performance

Collaborate with group sourcing organization on supplier selection, risk, and compliance

Internal Logistics & Material Flow

Own internal logistics and warehouse operations

Ensure efficient material flow from receiving through production to finished goods storage

Optimize inventory levels according to group policies

Improve internal logistics efficiency, accuracy, and space utilization
Organization & Leadership

Drive the cultural evolution of the organization, helping teams adapt to more structured ways of working

Build, structure and strengthen the operations organization and leadership team

Ensure close alignment with business units, Marioff Operations and engineering

Act as a trusted industrial partner to top management on operations strategy, capacity planning and operational priorities

Promote accountability, execution discipline and a continuous improvement mindset across the organization
To be successful in this role you will need:

15+ years of progressive experience in operations / manufacturing leadership roles within industrial environments - preferably from mechanical/electrical assembly operations

Proven experience in operations transformation

Strong track record in:

Lean manufacturing implementation

Process formalization and operational structuring

Organizational and cultural transformation

Industrial scale-up, plant start-up, relocation or major expansion projects

Strong operational mindset combined with strategic thinking and execution capability

Natural leadership and credibility with both management teams and shop-floor personnel

Strong change management and communication skills (Italian + English)

Engineering or technical background strongly preferred

Fluent in both Italian and English language
