Who we are looking for:
We are looking for a Customs Specialist to support import/export operations, ensuring compliance with customs & trade regulations. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in tariff classification, customs valuation, origin, trade agreements, and customs documentation. The role reports functionally to the Global Customs Compliance Manager.
As a Customs Specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Supporting tariff classification activities & maintaining the correct customs classification of products.
- Verifying customs valuation elements & supporting the correct determination of customs value.
- Supporting origin assessment activities, including preferential and non-preferential origin, and the application of trade agreements where applicable.
- Managing and reviewing customs documentation for imports/exports, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and consistency.
- Supporting the correct application of customs procedures & special customs regimes, in line with business and regulatory requirements.
- Maintaining customs records and monitoring customs entries to identify discrepancies.
- Collaborating with internal departments such as Logistics, and Tax to ensure alignment on customs & trade compliance matters.
You are the person we are looking for if you have:
- At least 3 years of experience in customs, import/export operations.
- Experience in tariff classification, customs valuation, origin, trade agreements, customs regimes, and import/export customs documentation.
- Good knowledge of customs procedures and operational customs processes related to international shipments.
- Experience gained with customs brokers, freight forwarders, logistics providers, customs assistance centers, or AEO-certified companies is considered a strong plus, as is familiarity with topics such as CBAM, EUDR, and U.S. duties.
- Good command of English; knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, problem-solving attitude, and ability to manage priorities under pressure.
- Good communication and collaboration skills, with a practical and hands-on approach to operational issues, as well as a genuine passion for customs and international trade matters.
