Job Description: IT Support Specialist

Position Overview
We are looking for a knowledgeable and customer-focused IT Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be the first line of defense for all internal technology issues, ensuring that our employees have a seamless and productive work environment. You will troubleshoot hardware, software, and network problems, manage user accounts, and contribute to the overall efficiency of our IT infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for end-users seeking technical assistance via phone, email, chat, or in-person.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to hardware (laptops, monitors, printers), software (OS, applications), and network connectivity (Wi-Fi, VPN).
- Account Management: Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls in Active Directory, Azure AD, and O365/Microsoft 365.
- Onboarding/Offboarding: Set up new employee workstations (imaging, configuration, peripherals) and handle the secure decommissioning of equipment for departing staff.
- Asset Management: Maintain an accurate inventory of all IT assets, track warranties, and coordinate repairs or replacements.
- System Administration: Assist with the maintenance and patching of servers, workstations, and network equipment.
- Documentation: Create and maintain clear technical documentation, knowledge base articles, and user guides to empower staff with self-service solutions.
- Vendor Management: Liaise with external vendors for procurement and escalated support issues.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
- Experience: 2–4 years of experience in an IT support or helpdesk role.
- Operating Systems: Proficiency in Windows 10/11 and macOS; familiarity with Linux is a plus.
- Microsoft Stack: Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint) and Active Directory.
- Hardware: Experience imaging, configuring, and troubleshooting Dell, HP, or Apple hardware.
- Networking: Basic understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network troubleshooting tools.
- Ticketing Systems: Familiarity with IT service management tools (e.g., Jira, Zendesk, ServiceNow, Freshservice).
Preferred:
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft 365 Certified, or ITIL Foundation.
- Experience with MDM solutions (e.g., JAMF, Intune) and mobile device management.
- Scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Bash) for automation tasks.
