The selected candidate will contribute to the evolution of the hardware communication layer by analyzing the existing implementation, porting it to a new DSP platform, and supporting integration and debugging activities on embedded systems.
Main Responsibilities
Support the porting of the MHAL (Modem Hardware Abstraction Layer) message transport infrastructure used for communication between DSP and FPGA;
Analyze the existing implementation running on Texas Instruments TMS320C6457 DSP;
Analyze the current MHAL layer based on RapidIO / SRIO;
Port the software to the Texas Instruments TMS320C6657 DSP platform;
Configure the DSP as a PCI Express Endpoint and implement communication with the FPGA over PCIe;
Develop interrupt-driven (IRQ-based) message reception mechanisms;
Adapt low-level drivers and message transport mechanisms to the new architecture;
Support functional verification of the DSP-FPGA communication channel;
Perform embedded debugging activities using Code Composer Studio;
Support FPGA integration activities and troubleshoot issues identified during system integration;
Produce and maintain the technical documentation required for software release.
