As Investment Operations manager, you will be responsible for the design, governance, and continuous enhancement of operational processes and data management activities within the Investment Department.
In this role, you will oversee the development and maintenance of the data architecture supporting investment operations, analysis, reporting, and decision-making processes. You will ensure the implementation and monitoring of data quality controls to guarantee reliable, accurate, and timely information, while continuously enhancing the Investment Department's data repository and reporting infrastructure.
You will also be responsible for the operational framework required to execute investment activities, ensuring its ongoing evolution to support new asset classes, investment mandates, and product initiatives.
In addition, you will manage relationships with technical service providers, oversee operational budgets, and supervise the administrative and control activities necessary to ensure the accurate and timely processing of invoices from providers, asset managers, custodians, and other operational counterparties.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain the investment database, including the management of data flows and the production of reporting.
- Define, maintain, and develop the data architecture supporting investment analysis and reporting, in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external providers.
- Manage technology requests and system enhancements to ensure the effective functioning of the Investment Department’s operational processes.
- Design and oversee data governance processes, ensuring consistency, integrity, and traceability of investment data across systems and reporting environments.
- Identify and promote automation and process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing data quality, operational efficiency, and reporting capabilities.
- Define, maintain, and develop the operational set-up required to execute investments, onboard new asset classes, establish new investment mandates, and support the launch of new Unit Linked products.
- Oversee and further develop Middle Office activities related to the internal order management process within the Investment Department.
- Define, monitor, and maintain data quality KPIs for investment-related data across Allianz Group companies in Italy and across Traditional Life, Unit Linked, and PC business lines.
- Manage contractual relationships related to Investment Operations, including agreements with Asset Managers and Custodian Banks.
- Manage tender processes and negotiate contracts with external service providers supporting Investment Operations, including the ongoing monitoring of contractual arrangements and service performance.
- Oversee KYC and AML processes involving Asset Managers, Custodian Banks, Transfer Agents, and other relevant counterparties.
- Govern the Investment Operations framework, including the maintenance of procedures and operating manuals, the update of the corporate handbook, the maintenance of DORA-related documentation, and the evolution of Business Impact Analysis mappings.
- Define, monitor, and control budgets related to Investment Operations activities.
- Review and authorize invoices from Asset Managers, Custodian Banks, and external providers, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and internal governance requirements.
KEY REQUIREMENTS / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
- 7–12 years of professional experience in Investment Operations of Asset Management, Banking, Insurance, or other financial services environments.
- Master’s degree in Engineering or Economics or related fields.
- Additional qualifications such as an MBA, PhD, CFA, FRM, or equivalent professional certifications are considered an advantage; OPEX Blue Belt or OPEX Black Belt certification is a plus.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and IT skills, with knowledge of Python, SQL, VBA, C/C++, or other programming languages.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of data management, reporting, and business intelligence tools, including Power BI or equivalent analytics platforms.
- Data Analytics and Data Reporting skills.
- Good knowledge of financial market data providers and platforms such as Bloomberg, LSEG Workspace (Refinitiv), Morningstar, or equivalent solutions.
- Solid understanding of data governance, data quality management, and data architecture principles.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and operational improvement.
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across local and international teams and interact with multiple internal and external counterparts.
- Sound understanding of investment processes, financial instruments, and the operational framework supporting investment activities.
- Process-oriented mindset with a strong focus on operational excellence, governance, and continuous improvement.
- Fluency in written and spoken Italian and English.
Pursuant to Article 5(1) of Legislative Decree No. 96 of 7 May 2026, as amended and supplemented from time to time, the range applicable to the position offered is between € 65.000 gross and € 75.000 gross.
Employment will be subject to the terms and conditions set forth in the National Collective Labor Agreement for Insurance Companies and the applicable Company Agreement.
The final determination of the starting remuneration will be based on an evaluation of the candidate’s qualifications, skills, and relevant experience in relation to the requirements of the role.
