The opportunity: Relationship Management – Associate in Global Network Banking
HSBC Italy is looking for a highly motivated candidate with a strong academic background to join the Italian Global Network Banking to support the management and growth of the global subsidiary client base, with a focus on transaction banking opportunities.

What you will do:
The job holder will join the Relationship Management team, supporting Global Network Banking (GNB) clients with their day-to-day financial needs, with a primary focus on developing transaction banking opportunities in close coordination with Product and the Global Relationship Banking teams worldwide. GNB clients are subsidiaries of multinational companies operating in the local market.
The candidate will have full exposure to the broad HSBC products offering and will work within a close, well-coordinated team led by a senior banker, who will provide strategic direction and set commercial priorities.
The overall objective of the role is to grow the Global Network Banking business in Italy by new business opportunities and promoting HSBC’s full product portfolio.
In this role you will:
- Ensure the efficient, smooth running of operational and commercial activities for the assigned portfolio of subsidiary clients.
- Drive sustainable growth by identifying opportunities to expand the portfolio and deepen client relationships, leveraging HSBC’s product suite while maintaining strong credit quality in line with HSBC credit standards, policies and processes
- Maintain close links and coordination with HSBC’s international network to respond promptly to client queries, manage local exposure and capture additional business opportunities
- Identify client needs and deliver tailored solutions across HSBC’s product suite—including trade and working capital finance, cash management optimisation, structured trade, foreign exchange, commodities, fixed income, and lending (including syndicated and bilateral)—in partnership with product specialists
- Ensure the client portfolio meets all internal and external regulatory requirements, including KYC and Compliance obligations.
- Own all credit aspects of the relationship, including annual reviews, early issue identification and remedial management
- Partner with internal teams to deliver products and services fairly and transparently, including participation in internal and external client calls and meetings.
- Manage financial crime risk across the client lifecycle by identifying, assessing, monitoring, escalating and mitigating risks.
- Ensure adherence to all applicable operational risk HSBC Standards and policies, reporting any breaches in accordance with local procedures
- Keep abreast of developments, products and offerings from HSBC, and market changes
- Assess risk appropriately when making business decisions, considering HSBC’s reputation and safeguarding HSBC, its clients and assets by complying with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgement, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues transparently.

- Strong academic background
- Previous working experience in a similar role within top tier Italian and International banks
- Proven expertise in risk assessment and ability to proactively manage risks
- Italian native language knowledge and fluency in English
- Proactive attitude, eager to take on responsibilities and able to work well in an international high-performance team
- Stress resilience and can shift quickly between different responsibilities
- MS Office proficiency

What you’ll get in return:
The pay range for this role is 57,500 € - 62,000 €
