A Barista prepares and serves high-quality coffee, espresso-based beverages, teas, and other café products while delivering excellent customer service. This role involves taking customer orders, preparing drinks according to company standards, handling payments, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve coffee, espresso, tea, and specialty beverages.
- Greet customers, take orders, and provide friendly, professional service.
- Operate coffee machines, grinders, blenders, and other café equipment safely.
- Process cash, card, and digital payments accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Prepare and serve light food items, pastries, and snacks as required.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the café, dining area, and workstations.
- Restock coffee beans, milk, syrups, cups, and other supplies.
- Monitor inventory and report low stock levels to management.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and health regulations at all times.
- Resolve customer inquiries and complaints in a courteous manner.
- Work efficiently during busy periods while maintaining beverage quality.
- Support teammates with opening, closing, and daily café operations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience as a barista, cashier, or in customer service is an advantage but not always required.
- Knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and espresso machines is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math skills for handling payments and cash transactions.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
