As Head of Buying - Beauty & Sunglasses, you will be responsible for defining the strategic direction and driving the commercial success of our Beauty & Sunglasses category. You will shape a compelling assortment across skincare, makeup, fragrance, haircare, and wellness, while building strong partnerships with key brands and suppliers. As a category leader, you will identify growth opportunities, optimize category performance, and lead a high-performing team to deliver a differentiated customer proposition and sustainable business growth.
Responsibilities:
- Define and execute the category strategy for Beauty & Sunglasses, aligned with overall business objectives and growth ambitions.
- Own the commercial performance of the Beauty & Sunglasses category, including revenue, margin, assortment productivity, and inventory health.
- Identify, onboard, and develop strategic relationships with leading beauty brands and suppliers.
- Drive long-term category growth through assortment planning, trend forecasting, and customer-centric buying decisions.
- Leverage market insights, customer data, and competitive analysis to optimize product selection, pricing, and category positioning.
- Lead negotiations with brand partners to secure the best commercial terms, exclusive launches, and strategic collaborations.
- Partner closely with Merchandising, Trading, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Retail teams to deliver a seamless customer experience.
- Foster innovation within the category by identifying emerging brands, trends, and opportunities in the beauty market.
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing buying team, creating a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous development.
Requirements:
- Extensive buying experience within Beauty, Cosmetics, Skincare, Fragrance, Haircare, Sunglasses or closely related categories, ideally in a retail or e-commerce environment.
- Strong understanding of beauty market dynamics, customer behavior, product trends, and competitive landscape.
- Proven track record of delivering commercial growth through strategic assortment planning, supplier management, and trading decisions.
- Experience managing relationships with both established global brands and emerging market players.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence senior stakeholders internally and externally.
- Demonstrated success leading and developing high-performing teams in a fast-paced, commercially driven environment.
- Data-driven mindset with strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- Ability to balance customer needs, brand positioning, and commercial objectives.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to operate effectively across functions and seniority levels.
