The IRCCS San Raffaele Scientific Institute in Milan, Italy, is looking for two Research Fellows (Post-doctoral or Pre-doctoral) to join the Cancer Metabolism Laboratory led by Dr. Simone Cardaci.
Main responsibilities:
The projects focus on:
Investigating immuno-metabolic crosstalk in non-small cell lung cancer;
Identifying metabolic vulnerabilities in solid tumors driven by mitochondrial defects.
By elucidating metabolic reprogramming that sustains malignant cell proliferation and impairs anti-tumor immune responses, our research aims at uncovering novel therapeutic targets for improved cancer treatment.
The candidate we are looking for has the following skills:
We are looking for two highly motivated, proactive candidates driven by scientific curiosity and committed to building a successful academic research career.
Post-doctoral candidates must hold a PhD in a field relevant to cancer biology and have at least one research paper published (or submitted) as leading author.
Pre-doctoral candidates must hold a Master's degree in Biology or a related field and demonstrate strong potential for enrolment in future intramural PhD programs.
Both positions require hands-on expertise in core cellular and molecular biology techniques, as well as in vivo (mouse) work. The Post-doctoral position additionally requires strong expertise in multicolor flow cytometry. Expertise in advanced fluorescence microscopy (including associated image analysis) will be considered favorably.
What we offer:
Successful candidates will enjoy a dynamic, collaborative environment, access to state-of-the-art facilities, and a competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience (initial 1-year fixed-term contract, renewable up to March 2031).
