We are looking for an Electrical Designer to join our Technical Department, with a strong passion for technology and a motivation to work in a dynamic, multicultural, and challenging environment.
You will be part of an international context characterized by high technological complexity and innovation.
After an initial onboarding period, supported by experienced colleagues, you will progressively take responsibility for the electrical design of Tenova Pomini machines and plants.
Key Responsibilities
Design
- Basic and detailed electrical design of standard machines customized according to customer requirements (projects), including:
- Roll grinders
- Automatic loaders
- Roll shop auxiliaries
- Automated areas
- Basic and detailed electrical design of revamping (retrofit/upgrade) of Pomini roll grinders, competitors’ machines, lifting machines and roll shop auxiliary equipment
- Sizing of electrical components (motors, drives, transformers, etc.)
- Preparation of Bills of Materials (including long lead-time components and project BOMs)
- Preparation of cable lists, functional diagrams and layout drawings
- Adaptation of design according to applicable standards in destination countries
- Technical communication with customers
- Ensure compliance with applicable Directives, Laws and Standards (including EU Machinery Regulation)
- Ensure compliance with North American standards (USA and Canada)
- Perform electrical calculations (cabinet overheating, short-circuit, fault loop impedance, voltage drop)
- Perform Performance Level calculations for safety circuits
- Management and coordination of external design consultants
- Review and validation of consultants’ deliverables
Proposal
- Support the Sales Department in the preparation of technical and commercial proposals
- Analyze Customer Technical Specifications
- Perform cost estimation for electrical equipment
- Participate in commercial meetings, including short business trips abroad
- Support Purchasing in supplier qualification and alternative components selection
Management
- Manage the engineering budget
- Manage supplier relationships
- Monitor and control project timelines and costs
- Coordinate activities with Planning, Purchasing and Production departments
Other Activities
- Participate in meetings with suppliers
- Attend meetings at customer sites for sales support or technical visits
What we ask for
- Technical High School Diploma in Electrical Engineering or degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
- Knowledge of electrical design tools (SPAC preferred)
- Familiarity with PLM (Product Life Management) systems
- SAP knowledge is a plus
- Knowledge of Siemens tools (TIA Selection Tool, Sizer, Sinamics)
- Knowledge of electrical standards (IEC, NFPA, UL, CSA)
- Knowledge of ISO 13849 and safety Performance Levels
- Knowledge of ISO 16089:2015
- Knowledge of Machinery Regulation 2023/1230
- Significant experience in the Technical Department of a machine tool company or in companies providing electrical solutions to machine tool manufacturers.
- Hands-on profile with strong analytical, planning, and coordination skills. Ability to manage internal teams and external consultants and communicate effectively with stakeholders
- Fluent English (reading, writing, speaking) is mandatory.

For the position, the starting gross annual salary will be from € 45.000, with the final offer determined based on the candidate’s seniority, experience, and skills, as well as the outcome of the selection process.
