BB&E is seeking an Assistant Site Manager to support management of telecommunications operations and maintenance at NAVSATCOMFAC Lago Patria. The Assistant Site Manager provides daily operational oversight, supervises contractor personnel, and assumes full Site Manager responsibilities during the Site Manager's absence. This position supports mission-critical satellite communications systems serving global U.S. military operations.
The ideal candidate will have experience with operating and maintaining satellite communications systems in Italy. Experience working on O&M contracts providing support 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and experience performing O&M on Teleport Satellite Systems such as VERTEX RSI 9-meter Ku Band Commercial terminals, VERTEX RSI 16.4-meter C-band Commercial terminals, VIASAT RT-1828 UHF radios, or USC-38 NMT AEHF terminals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assist in supervising daily telecommunications operations and maintenance.

Act on behalf of the Site Manager during periods of absence.

Coordinate maintenance scheduling, staffing, and mission support activities.

Supervise contractor personnel and ensure contract compliance.

Assist with implementation of Quality Control and Navy 3M maintenance programs.

Coordinate installation, activation, and maintenance of SATCOM systems.

Support execution of Telecommunications Service Orders (TSOs), Telecommunications Service Requests (TSRs), and infrastructure upgrades.

Assist with cybersecurity, COMSEC, facility security, and emergency planning.

Coordinate with Government representatives regarding operational requirements.

Review maintenance documentation, SOPs, reports, and technical procedures.

Participate in operational planning, troubleshooting, and system upgrades.

Maintain on-site availability to support Government mission requirements.
Requirements
-
Meet DoD Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF) qualification requirements.
-
Minimum five (5) months of formal SHF, EHF, or UHF satellite communications training.
-
Minimum five (5) years of satellite earth terminal operations and maintenance experience within the last twelve (12) years.

Minimum four (4) years of supervisory experience managing SHF, EHF, or UHF satellite communications facilities.

Experience planning and implementing DISA Telecommunications Service Requests and Telecommunications Service Orders.
-
Experience supporting telecommunications infrastructure installations, wiring, cabling, and configuration changes.
-
Active Secret Security Clearance (minimum).

U.S. Citizenship required.

Strong leadership, technical troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Physical Requirements: To successfully perform the essential duties of this position, an individual must be able to perform the following:

Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, crouch, crawl, navigate across uneven ground that is common at construction sites and climb for extended periods as well as when traveling to and from job sites

Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds regularly

Must be able to work both indoor/outdoor (with exposure to the elements)

Must be able to work in confined spaces and under varying environmental conditions, including heat, cold, humidity, rain, wind, dust, and noise

Must be able to wear and use required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, steel-toed boots, fall protection safety vests and high-visibility reflective safety vests

Must have sufficient visual and auditory acuity to perform tasks safely and effectively, including reading instruments, recognizing hazards, and communicating on active construction sites

Must be able to drive company or personal vehicles to and from field locations, sometimes multiple times per day, and may be required to work variable shifts depending on project needs
Work Environment:

Ability to stand/walk/climb/kneel/crouch and remain in a stationary position/sit at least 60% of the time

Ability to operate office equipment, including computer, copy machine, phone, etc.

Ability to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms
