As Teammate of Promat Italy, you will lead research and development initiatives to design new products and systems, as well as improve and adapt existing technologies within the intumescent portfolio. You will take full ownership of a product portfolio focused on intumescent lamination, extrusion, and injection molding. Additionally, you will act as a key technical reference, providing expert support to both internal stakeholders (including Quality Control, production sites in Italy and Europe, and other business units) and external customers.
1. Product Development & Innovation
Conduct patent and literature reviews to define project scopes and problem statements.
Develop project plans, test formulations on a lab scale, and extrapolate them to production processes.
Design, monitor, and analyze fire test programs to meet high-standard building and industry requirements.
Source new raw materials to enhance product performance, lower costs, and reduce the CO2 footprint.
Collaborate with internal experts, operations, universities, suppliers, and external partners.
Train stakeholders on technologies/product performance and support grant and patent applications.
2. Project & Portfolio Management
Lead projects by defining scope with sponsors, conducting risk analyses, and preparing decision meetings.
Manage project databases and development plans in alignment with company project management standards.
Coordinate and delegate tasks within the team, ensuring deliverables are met on time and within budget.
Report progress clearly to stakeholders and proactively provide mitigation plans for potential delays.
Oversee laboratory management, including equipment and personnel coordination.
3. Technical Assistance & Support
Clarify and define technical requests from internal and external stakeholders.
Oversee material technology and performance for the assigned portfolio (Intumescent, lamination, extrusion, injection molding).
Define, perform, or commission specific analyses and tests.
Evaluate test results and deliver conclusive technical reports to Quality Control (QC), production sites, and business units.
4. Safety & Environmental Compliance
Report hazardous situations, accidents, or safety system failures and participate in investigations.
Properly utilize laboratory materials, work equipment, hazardous products, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Actively contribute to prevention and environmental policies, maintaining compliance with corporate standards.
