MSC Technology Italia is looking for a Field Service Engineer with a background in Mechatronics Engineering to support the remote maintenance and lifecycle management of terminal equipment across MSC's global operations.
The successful candidate will work closely with international teams, including the engineering team in Chennai, to coordinate maintenance activities, optimize equipment performance, and develop effective maintenance plans for terminal and depot operations. This role is ideal for engineers with strong analytical skills and experience in technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate remote maintenance activities to ensure the reliability and availability of terminal equipment.
- Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance plans for terminal and depot operations.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to support maintenance activities and resolve technical issues.
- Monitor equipment performance, analyze failures, and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to improve system reliability.
- Support troubleshooting and diagnostics for mechatronic, electronic, and electromechanical systems.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, maintenance procedures, and service reports.
- Work with cross-functional teams to optimize maintenance processes and improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with company standards, quality requirements, and safety procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in field service, remote maintenance, or technical support for industrial or terminal equipment.
- Good understanding of mechatronic, electronic, and electromechanical systems.
- Experience in maintenance planning, troubleshooting, and equipment lifecycle management.
- Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Ability to work effectively with international and cross-functional teams in a multicultural environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

The position will be classified within the Employee category, at one of the C2, C3, B1 or B2 levels under the Italian Metalworking Industry National Collective Bargaining Agreement (CCNL Metalmeccanico Industria).
The classification level and any additional remuneration components supplementing the base salary will be determined based on an assessment, carried out during the selection process, of objective and neutral criteria such as, by way of example, the candidate’s professional experience, technical skills, level of autonomy and the responsibilities required by the role.
