Production Planning Specialist
The Production Planning Specialist is responsible for planning, coordinating and managing production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements while ensuring the most effective utilization of the company's production capacity. The role also involves inventory management, production monitoring and cross-functional collaboration to support operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, maintain and optimize the master production schedule, considering capacity constraints, demand forecasts, inventory levels and historical trends to achieve targeted lead times and service levels.
- Review and validate sales orders against forecasted demand and the approved production plan.
- Coordinate closely with the Customer Service team to provide accurate production status updates and proactively communicate potential delays or issues.
- Develop and manage production schedules to ensure on-time delivery of customer orders while maximizing manufacturing efficiency.
- Manages inventory levels, schedules and availability of selected item, either manufactured or purchased, to meet production schedules
- Release Manufacturing Orders and monitor their progress throughout the entire production process to ensure compliance with delivery dates and quantities.
- Collaborate with Production, Purchasing, Logistics and other relevant departments to address material shortages, scheduling conflicts and planning issues.
- Ensure timely, accurate and effective communication with all stakeholders regarding any factors impacting delivery commitments, product quality or customer satisfaction.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing planning accuracy, inventory management and overall supply chain performance.
Required Experience & Competencies
- High School Diploma or University Degree, preferably in Economics, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in production planning, materials management, supply chain or in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to make sound decisions based on available data and operational priorities.
- Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet demanding deadlines.
- Customer-oriented approach and flexibility in handling a wide range of operational activities.
- Effective time management and prioritization skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Good knowledge of English and French, both written and spoken.
Compensation & Benefits
- Contract under the Italian Paper and Paperboard Industry Collective Agreement (CCNL Carta e Cartone Industria)
- Indicative gross annual salary (RAL): €30,000 - €38,000, commensurate with the candidate's experience and competencies.
- Additional benefits provided in accordance with company policies and the applicable collective agreement.
