THE ROLE
You will be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group, where junior and senior scientists collaborate, each with their expertise, to carry out a scientific activity with a shared research goal.
The Bio-logic Research unit is coordinated by Prof. Paolo Netti. The research focuses on the development of biological twin through the integration of human-derived neural models, functional electrophysiological readouts, and engineered microphysiological systems reproducing key structural and physiological features of the human central nervous system.
Within the research team, your main responsibilities will be:
- Functional investigation of neuronal communication and network behavior through electrophysiological approaches
- Experimental modeling of neurodegenerative and neuroinflammatory conditions using advanced in vitro systems
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- A PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, Biotechnologies, and similar disciplines
- Documented experience with CNS in iPSC-derived neuronal cells; in vitro models, in particular spheroids, organoids and brain-on-chip; electrophysiological characterization of neural activity, synchronization, and network connectivity
- Strong publication record
- Good command of spoken and written English
ADDITIONAL SKILLS
- Experience in neurodegenerative disease models and neuroinflammation studies is considered a strong plus
- Knowledge of imaging analysis software and Matlab.
- Ability to work in a challenging and international environment
- Capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively in a highly interdisciplinary environment
- Possess Analytical Reasoning skills and a growth mindset
All other things being equal, having previously worked successfully at the Foundation is a preferential criterion
COMPENSATION PACKAGE
- A yearly gross salary up to 30k Euro
- Private health care coverage depending on your role and contract
- Candidates from abroad or Italian citizens who have carried scientific research activity permanently abroad and meet specific requirements, may be entitled to a deduction from taxable income of up to 90% from 6 to 13 years.
