Job Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Barista to join our team. As the face of our café, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality beverages, maintaining a clean workspace, and providing an exceptional guest experience. The ideal candidate has a passion for coffee, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Beverage Preparation
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages (espresso, lattes, cappuccinos, cold brew, teas, etc.) according to standard recipes.
- Operate espresso machines, grinders, and other commercial coffee equipment proficiently.
- Dial in espresso grind settings daily to ensure optimal flavor extraction.
- Maintain consistency in quality, temperature, and presentation of all drinks.
2. Customer Service
- Greet customers warmly, take orders accurately, and answer questions regarding menu items.
- Make recommendations based on customer preferences and dietary restrictions (e.g., oat milk, sugar-free syrups).
- Handle cash, credit card, and mobile transactions using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Resolve customer complaints promptly and professionally.
3. Food Handling (if applicable)
- Prepare and serve light food items (pastries, sandwiches, toasties, or breakfast bowls).
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations.
4. Cleanliness & Maintenance
- Maintain a clean and organized work station, including the espresso machine, countertops, and display cases.
- Perform routine cleaning of equipment (backflushing, descaling, cleaning steam wands).
- Restock supplies (cups, lids, syrups, milk, coffee beans) throughout the shift.
- Follow opening and closing checklists (e.g., turning equipment on/off, locking up).
5. Team Collaboration
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth workflow during peak hours.
- Assist with inventory counts and notify management when supplies are low.
- Participate in training sessions to improve coffee knowledge and skill sets.
Qualifications & Requirements
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a barista or in food service (preferred, but not required—we will train the right person).
- Basic math skills for cash handling.
- Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours) and lift up to 25 lbs (e.g., milk crates, coffee bags).
Preferred:
- Knowledge of coffee brewing methods (pour-over, French press, AeroPress).
- Food Handler’s Permit or ServSafe Certification.
- Experience with POS systems.

Pay: €675.38 - €2,055.90 per month
