Key Responsibilities May Include:
- Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies to achieve growth targets, expanding CHEP’s market presence in key territories and sectors.
- Manage and grow a portfolio of strategic key accounts, leading negotiations, contract management, and fostering strong customer relationships for long-term revenue retention.
- Proactively identify and secure high-value new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, and relationship-building, ensuring a strong sales pipeline and conversion.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Marketing, Operations, Customer Service) to design and deliver tailored solutions that meet customer needs and align with CHEP’s value proposition.
- Continuously monitor market trends, customer insights, and competitor activities to refine sales strategies, capitalize on growth opportunities, and enhance CHEP’s positioning.
- Lead the development and execution of joint business plans with strategic customers, driving sustainable growth, cost reduction, and enhanced supply chain efficiencies.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior business development managers, fostering a high-performance, goal-oriented team culture.
- Prepare and present detailed business development reports, forecasts, and strategic updates to senior leadership, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and growth initiatives.
Pallecon is CHEP's reusable container solutions business. While CHEP pallets help move finished products, Pallecon supports the beginning of the supply chain by providing reusable containers used to transport raw materials, ingredients and industrial products. Operating across Europe, we help customers improve efficiency, sustainability and supply chain performance through a circular pooling model.
The Opportunity
We're looking for a commercially driven Business Development Manager to lead new business growth across Italy. This is a genuine hunter role, focused on identifying opportunities, opening doors, building relationships, negotiating commercial agreements and winning profitable business.
You will own the entire customer journey—from prospecting and closing deals to supporting customer onboarding and expansion during the early stages of the relationship.
What You'll Be Doing
Develop and execute a territory growth strategy for Italy.
Prospect and win new customers across targeted sectors.
Lead complex commercial negotiations and RFQ/RFI processes.
Build strong relationships with key decision-makers.
Manage opportunities through the full sales cycle.
Work closely with operations, customer service, sales and product teams.
Drive profitable revenue growth and pipeline development.
What We're Looking For
Fluent Italian and business-level English.
Proven success in B2B business development.
Strong hunting mentality and commercial drive.
Experience in logistics, packaging, pooling, supply chain, manufacturing, food ingredients or related industries.
Excellent negotiation, relationship-building and solution-selling skills.
Self-starter mindset with the ability to work independently in a European team environment.
Curiosity, resilience and adaptability to change.

52,800 – 63,000 €
