Join the Pirelli Modelling team and play a pivotal role in advancing the virtual design of tyres, with a particular focus on Tools Development. From the , you’ll be immersed in Python programming and CAE methodologies and collaborate with Pirelli’s global technical centers to harmonize simulation tools and methodologies. Guided by your tutor, you’ll engage in diverse and challenging activities, from developing modelling tools, while contributing to innovative approaches that redefine the future of tyre design.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
You will collaborate with your tutor in:
- Contribute to development of SW tools for automation and industrialization of simulations guaranteeing efficient use of HW and SW resources.
- Supporting users when facing issues related to simulations such as code bugs, HPC server unexpected behavior, poor FEA model quality, convergence.
- Gathering feedback from the users of the tools.
- Code bug fixing and continue maintenance and improvement.
- Generation of documentation (release notes, check lists, users’ guides) to support the correct use of the tools.
- Team working with other Pirelli departments (testing, materials, processes….) whenever necessary
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Master’s degree in Mathematical / Mechanical / Aeronautical Engineering is preferred.
- Background in the following areas (in priority order) would be beneficial:
o Programming languages (preferably Python) for automation of pre- and post-processing tools
o Finite Elements simulations (implicit & explicit, preferably Abaqus) ideally on tire applications
o Non-relational database management systems (preferably MongoDB)
o Linux (files management, shell commands)
o Version control systems (Git, Gitlab)
- Fluency in Italian and English.
- Be able to demonstrate an innovative and flexible approach and engagement in the new challenges expressed by a quick changing competitive scenario.
- Be open-minded and able to work in team.
- Be receptive and eager to help in order to provide high quality support to the other groups.
