Database Administrator
MSC continues to invest and lead the world container market with ships, an extensive container fleet, intermodal and dedicated staff for its customers. The Company’s evolution to its leading brand needs consistency to market, and therefore it is paramount to standardise data, processes and management information.
ROLE AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide 1st and 2nd level support for MSC’s Global SQL Server environment, ensuring stability, performance and continuity of database services

Provide front line support for all SQL Server systems, including monitoring system health and performance troubleshooting activities

Perform scheduled maintenance activities and support release deployment processes across database environments

Assist developers with TSQL scripts and SSIS development tasks, ensuring compliance with internal standards and best practices

Develop, implement and support backup/restore, disaster recovery and data replication procedures
-
Assess future database service needs and proactively identify potential improvements and optimization opportunities

Participate in all aspects of the lifecycle for database environments, including implementation of requested database code and configuration changes

Interact with various IT teams regarding work requests submitted, participate in the creation of new policies, procedures, projects and processes

Participate in the 24X7 on-call rotation and provide emergency support for critical systems when required

Contribute to the definition, refinement and implementation of database standards and operational best practices

Complete ad hoc tasks and projects as required by the Company
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
-
Experience in SQL Server Administration in complex enterprise environments
-
Technical knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2019 and above, including installation, upgrades, backup and recovery, database maintenance, troubleshooting and performance tuning
-
Knowledge of SQL Server running on virtual machines and Azure SQL Server
-
Experience with backup strategies, restore procedures and recovery models
-
Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions for SQL Server
-
Knowledge of SQL Server Replication and SSIS
-
Knowledge of TSQL scripts
-
Experience working with Windows Server environments and Active Directory

Knowledge of PowerShell scripting is considered a plus

Experience with GitHub is considered a plus

Professional command of English, both written and spoken
In compliance with the applicable pay transparency legislation, the following information is provided regarding the initial compensation foreseen for the position.
Applicable Collective Labour Agreement (CCNL): Metalworking Industry Collective Agreement (CCNL Metalmeccanico Industria)
Employment Category: White-collar employee
Gross Annual Salary (RAL): between €26.843,44 and € 33.058,74 gross per year, paid over 13 monthly installments.
The position within the salary range and the corresponding job classification level (C2, C3, B1 or B2 under the applicable CCNL) will be determined based on the candidate’s professional experience, technical competencies, and the level of autonomy and responsibility assigned to the role.
