As Global Quality Engineer Lead you will build strong Motion Technologies plant and product knowledge, gain hands-on customer and operations exposure.
This is not a standard local quality role. It is a structured for a globally Quality professional who is ready for a demanding experience involving plant immersion, frequent travel and customer exposure.
During the assignment, you will combine hands-on plant work, quality system experience, product/process learning, customer-facing activities, and global projects. Over time, you will move from technical learning to practical ownership, building the confidence and capability needed for a broader international Quality role within ITT.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Learn Motion Technologies product families, manufacturing flows, process constraints, critical characteristics, customer requirements and plant quality routines.
- Support operational quality activities linked to production, validation of new products/processes/equipment, containment actions, problem-solving and shop-floor quality discipline.
- Support compliance with ITT Quality Management System requirements and applicable standards - especially IATF 16949 and ISO 9001.
- Contribute to quality documentation and governance: procedures, control plans, audit readiness, corrective actions and standard work.
- Analyze customer requirements, critical characteristics, manufacturing flows and quality risks; define or improve controls and escalation routines.
- Monitor and report quality performance indicators, trends, non-conformities, customer issues, and improvement actions; translate data into practical recommendations for plant and functional leaders.
- Support internal and external audits (preparation, execution support, evidence collection, follow-up actions, and lessons learned).
- Spend 60–70% of the assignment in plants or plant-related activities, including travel (possible up to 50% of the time)
- Lead or support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions using structured methods (e.g., 8D, 5 Why, shikawa/Fishbone) and lessons-learned reviews.
- Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Program Management and Operations on:
- quality improvement initiatives
- validation of products/processes/equipment
- traceability projects
- launch readiness and process stabilization
Support customer visits, customer communications, issue reviews and follow-up actions under guidance of Motion Technologies Quality leadership.
- Contribute to product/process knowledge sharing across plants and Value Centers to standardize best practices and critical quality controls.
- Participate in project-management activities tied to quality improvement, customer requirements, production readiness, and cross-plant standardization.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical, Electrical, Process Industrial, or related); alternatively, a strong technical diploma in Electrical/Electromechanical disciplines with relevant quality experience.
- 4–5 years in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Quality, Customer Quality, Process Quality or related technical quality roles
- Experience in structured industrial environments with a preference for Automotive industry (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA); also considered: pharma, aerospace, industrial manufacturing or other regulated and process-driven sectors, where documentation discipline, deviation management, validation and process control are critical.
- Solid understanding of Quality Management Systems, non-conformity management, root cause analysis, corrective actions, process control, and quality KPIs.
- Experience in customer-specific requirements, audits, and launch quality.
- Experience in cross-functional projects involving Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Program Management or Customer Quality.
- Full willingness and practical ability to travel extensively, spend extended periods in our plants, working across multiple sites, cultures, customers, or functions.
- Fluent English (written and spoken). Knowledge of Italian is strongly recommended and will be considered a significant advantage. Additional languages are a plus. Additional languages are a plus.
