About This Opportunity
Join a cross-functional team in Pagani, Italy, working on cloud-native telecom products. As a Senior Software Designer, you will play a leading role in designing and developing the software that powers Ericsson’s licensing and entitlement capabilities. You will work in an international environment, collaborating closely with a cross-functional-agile team to build scalable, secure and robust services that enable efficient license management and usage control across Ericsson products.
Beyond hands-on design, you will act as a technical reference representing a small team of engineers, guiding day-to-day work, ensuring technical alignment and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaborative problem solving. The team works according to Lean and Agile principles and values knowledge sharing at every stage.

What You Will Do
Architecture & Design

Define complete end-to-end cloud-native architectures that meet functional, performance and scalability requirements

Analyze application footprint and assess resource consumption, infrastructure requirements and capacity sizing

Determine scalability constraints and define appropriate sizing strategies for compute, storage and networking

Design and document comprehensive cloud-native solutions, ensuring alignment with product and engineering standards
Engineering & Delivery
-
Analyze requirements and identify practical opportunities for software features and intelligent automation

Design, implement and test cloud-native components, services and data pipelines
-
Build and maintain containerized applications and CI/CD pipelines
-
Integrate modern software capabilities — including data processing, monitoring and automation tooling — where relevant to product needs

Troubleshoot complex issues, support integration activities and produce clear, maintainable product documentation

Contribute to product lifecycle activities and to the evolution of standards, guidelines and best practices

Stay current with emerging technologies and proactively propose improvements to products and processes
Team Coordination

Coordinate and provide technical direction to a small team of software engineers supporting planning, prioritization and workload distribution across team members

Act as a mentor and technical escalation point, promoting quality, consistency and growth within the team

Collaborate closely with product owners, SW designers and cross-functional stakeholders
You Will Bring
Experience & Education
-
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
-
A minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud-native software engineering or design roles
-
A minimum of 2 years of experience in team coordination or technical leadership
Technical Skills
-
Strong, proven experience in end-to-end cloud-native software design and architecture
-
Demonstrated ability to evaluate performance, scalability and capacity sizing for distributed systems

Proficiency in performing footprint analysis to estimate compute, storage and networking needs

Strong programming skills in Python, Go or Java, with familiarity in scripting languages such as Bash

Solid hands-on experience with cloud-native platforms and container technologies, including Kubernetes and Docker

Deep understanding of software design principles, distributed architecture patterns and object-oriented design
-
Experience with CI/CD tooling, automation frameworks and agile product development practices
-
Practical knowledge of AI/ML concepts; experience with model development, LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation or vector databases is a strong plus

Ability to communicate technical topics clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
