At GE Vernova's Aero Alliance site in Florence, our Digital Technology (DT) Operations team is the backbone of day-to-day IT delivery for the business. As an IT Support Specialist, you'll play a key role in managing user environments, securing digital identities, and ensuring the cloud platforms and collaboration tools that our teams depend on are running smoothly and securely.
This is a hands-on, onsite role where you'll work across a modern technology stack — from Single Sign-On (SSO) and identity management to Microsoft 365 administration and cloud platform support — and where your work will have a direct, visible impact every day.
You'll support and maintain the full range of IT services across the Florence site, acting as a key point of expertise for users, internal teams, and the broader DT Operations function. Specifically, you will:
- Manage user environments and device deployment — oversee the deployment and configuration of user PCs and corporate mobile devices in line with company policies and Mobile Device Management (MDM) platform standards; manage user troubleshooting and resolve day-to-day IT issues efficiently.
- Administer identity and access management — manage SSO solutions based on Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) 2.0, OAuth 2.0, and OpenID Connect protocols; administer Identity Providers (IdP) including Azure Active Directory (Azure AD); oversee Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) platforms such as Ping ID and YubiKey; manage automated user provisioning and deprovisioning via System for Cross-domain Identity Management (SCIM); and monitor authentication logs to identify and respond to identity-related security incidents.
- Support cloud and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) environments — contribute to the management and optimisation of PaaS infrastructure; collaborate with development teams on the deployment and maintenance of cloud-native applications; and monitor platform performance, scalability, and service availability.
- Manage IT service requests and tickets — use ServiceNow across IT Service Management (ITSM) modules including Incident, Problem, and Change Management; support users and deliver internal training on platform use.
- Administer Microsoft 365 and collaboration tools — manage Microsoft 365 tenants across Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and Intune; administer licences, groups, security policies, and compliance settings in the Admin Center; configure Microsoft Teams as the corporate communication platform; and manage Data Loss Prevention (DLP), retention, and Information Protection policies.
You're an IT professional with solid experience across identity management, cloud platforms, and enterprise systems — someone who brings both technical depth and clear communication skills, and who thrives in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
Required
- A formal education in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline is valued, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.
- Proven experience in an IT role with a focus on identity management and enterprise systems.
- Solid proficiency in Microsoft 365 and related administration tools.
- Hands-on experience with ServiceNow (ITSM modules).
- Working knowledge of PowerShell for automation and scripting within the Microsoft environment.
- Familiarity with Zero Trust Security concepts and the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework.
- Good command of technical English (B2 level or above).
- Eligibility to apply under Italian Categoria Protetta legislation (Law 68/1999, Article 1).
Preferred
- ServiceNow ITSM or Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification.
- Experience working in complex, multi-stakeholder IT environments.
- Demonstrated proactive approach to continuous learning and adopting new IT technologies.
