Within Eaton’s Electrical business, the Life Safety Division (LSD) plays a pivotal role in protecting people and safeguarding buildings during emergency situations. Globally recognized for its expertise, the division delivers advanced solutions in emergency lighting, fire detection, alarm and notification, and mass notification systems—ensuring safe evacuation and regulatory compliance across complex commercial and institutional environments.
To support our continued growth, we are seeking a Specification Engineer to join our team.
This is a highly strategic, market-facing role focused on driving specification influence and building a strong network of key stakeholders across the Lazio region. The Specification Engineer will engage with engineering consultancies, design authorities, and end-users involved in high-value or standardized projects, positioning Eaton as the preferred partner early in the project lifecycle.
The core objective is to secure early visibility of opportunities and proactively shape project specifications, ensuring Eaton’s solutions are embedded from the design phase. This role also plays a critical part in identifying untapped opportunities, systematically tracking projects where Eaton is not yet specified, and ensuring full visibility through Salesforce and internal collaboration.
Success in this position requires strong cross-functional alignment with Project Sales Engineers, agents, and internal teams to accelerate pipeline progression and maximize conversion. The ideal candidate demonstrates a growth mindset, prioritizes high-impact opportunities, and leverages data-driven insights to drive business outcomes while expanding the adoption of Eaton’s Solution Spaces.
The role is based in the Lazio region, with additional exposure to strategic stakeholders in adjacent areas.
- Plan and execute targeted territory and account strategies focused on high-potential specifying stakeholders
- Build and maintain strong relationships with engineering consultancies, design authorities, and end-usersIdentify, qualify, and develop early-stage project opportunities
- Influence specifications by translating customer needs into tailored solutions
- Track non-specified projects and ensure accurate pipeline management in Salesforce
- Collaborate with Project Sales Engineers and internal teams to drive conversionSupport bid/no-bid decisions and prioritize opportunities effectively
- Transfer technical concepts and project requirements to engineering and back-office teamsConduct regular customer meetings, discovery sessions, and business reviews
- Manage the full sales pipeline, including opportunities and quotations
- Share market insights, monitor competitors, and relay customer needs to marketing
- Drive continuous improvement and standardization of specification processes
- Represent Eaton at industry events and strengthen market presence
- Support sales teams in closing strategic opportunities
- High school diploma with relevant job-related training and on-the-job experience, or a post-secondary degree or diploma
- minimum 3 years of experience in Commercial & Institutional (C&I) building projects, ideally in electrical design or project management for large-scale projects, or an equivalent background
- Knowledge of emergency lighting and/or fire systems is considered a strong asset

Eaton provides a competitive total rewards package based on applicable skills, knowledge and experience, and aligned with internal and external market practices. The annual salary range (including base salary and Sales Incentive Plan) for this role is EUR 55.200 – EUR 80.960 gross per year.
