Structural Engineer:
TXT e-Tech, a company of the TXT Group, is looking for a Structural Loads Engineer to join aerospace projects focused on the development and certification of cargo aircraft.
The selected candidate will be involved in updating and maintaining theoretical models and databases used for the determination of aircraft structural loads. The role includes validating stick models and performing limit and fatigue load analyses, both on the ground and in flight, supporting civil certification activities in accordance with EASA requirements.
The resource will work closely with design and certification teams to ensure the technical compliance of the different aircraft configurations foreseen by the programme.
Main responsibilities:
Update theoretical models and databases used by structural load determination tools
Create specific mass cases for the different cargo aircraft configurations
Update stiffness and inertial properties within the dynamic model
Validate updated Stick Models for the various aircraft versions
Perform comparisons between modal analyses carried out using NASTRAN and SANDY models
Generate NASTRAN interfaces for integration with structural load determination tools
Compare dynamic loads obtained from different models for reference gust and ground impact cases
Determine limit and fatigue structural loads, both in flight and on the ground, to support EASA civil certification activities
Use flight manoeuvre and gust simulation tools to determine aeromechanical parameters required for defining load distributions throughout the aircraft structure
Use multi-body simulation tools (ADAMS, VI-Aircraft, and in-house MATLAB/FORTRAN procedures) to analyse ground phases, including landing and dynamic taxiing conditions
Determine loads acting on the landing gear system and at the landing gear attachment points to the fuselage
Generate load distributions for all major aircraft structural components, including wings, fuselage, empennage, control surfaces and engines
Develop minimum and maximum load envelopes for each force component and identify homogeneous and correlated conditions
Collaborate with design and certification teams to ensure programme technical compliance
Required technical skills:
Knowledge of flight mechanics applied to fixed-wing aircraft
Knowledge of applied aerodynamics for fixed-wing aircraft
Expertise in structural analysis and structural dynamics
Good command of written and spoken English
Strong proficiency with technical and scientific analysis tools such as NASTRAN and MATLAB/Simulink
Experience with NASTRAN aeroelastic and structural dynamic solutions
Knowledge of civil and military regulations related to Structural Loads, and ability to apply them when preparing technical documentation
Optional technical skills:
Good knowledge of high-level programming languages such as Python, Fortran and C, including their integration with MATLAB environments
Knowledge of multi-body simulation tools such as ADAMS and VI-Aircraft
Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in:
Aerospace Engineering
Aeronautical Engineering
Completing the profile:
Team-working attitude
