About the Role
As a System Engineer, you are responsible for ensuring that the system is fully defined, coherent, compliant, and ready for acceptance at system level.
You act as the engineering authority on system definition and maturity, maintaining alignment between requirements, architecture, design, testing, and contractual commitments.
The role requires a strong holistic understanding of complex automation systems and the ability to ensure consistency across all technical domains and project phases.
Main responsibilities will include:
- Supervise the deployment of systems at customer sites, ensuring proper installation, testing, functionality, and user training to guarantee seamless operation;
- Provide advanced technical support to customers, addressing and resolving complex hardware, software, and control system issues both on-site and remotely;
- Troubleshoot and diagnose technical problems, collaborating with R&D engineers to identify root causes and implement effective solutions;
- Ensure that all technical support documentation is up-to-date, organized, and accessible for both internal teams and customer use;
- Monitor system performance using diagnostic tools and software, implementing preventative measures to improve reliability and minimize downtime;
- Identify opportunities for system optimization and improvement, contributing to the enhancement of both current and future systems;
- Own and maintain system-level documentation, architecture, and configuration, ensuring full alignment between design, implementation, and as-built system;
- Ensure complete traceability between requirements, design, testing, FMEA, and acceptance criteria, guaranteeing that all requirements are covered, risks are identified and mitigated, and evidence is available;
- Own system-level compliance, certifications, and quality documentation, ensuring adherence to applicable standards and contractual requirements;
- Define, monitor, and follow up system validation activities (rig testing, FAT, site validation) to ensure coverage of requirements, alignment with acceptance criteria, and proper documentation of results;
- Maintain a clear and structured view of system maturity and readiness, identifying gaps, inconsistencies, and risks and driving their resolution before customer acceptance;
- Ensure that all required evidence for customer acceptance (including test reports, certificates, manuals, and validation records) is complete, consistent, and properly consolidated.
What you need to be successful
- Bachelor’s Degree in Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, and at least 5 years of relevant professional work experience
- Strong understanding of system engineering principles, robotics, and automation technologies
- Fluency in the English language, both written and spoken
- High availability to travel
- Strong attention to detail and well-structured approach
- Interest in industrial production and desire to learn about new technologies
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Our Offer
Compensation for this role includes a base salary starting from EUR 44.400, in line with experience. The actual offer may exceed this minimum based on the candidate's qualifications and fit for the role.
The compensation package also includes a variable component in the form of an annual bonus, which can reach 10% of base salary at target.
A range of additional benefits (e.g., insurances, etc.) is also available in accordance with Company policy.
The applicable collective agreement is the CCNL Metalmeccanico.
