Skills, knowledge, experience required:
- At least 5 years recent post-related experience;
- A minimum of 3 years of experience with Linux RHEL servers and Ubuntu Workstation, and in designing, deploying, and maintaining Linux-based (virtualized) infrastructure;
- Hands-on experience with the fundamentals of Linux scripting languages.
Desirable:
- Familiarity with load balancing, firewalls, etc;
- Strong grasp on configuration management tools, such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef;
- Ability to identify project/program needs and develop strong technical, innovative solutions for addressing use of existing and future computing resources.
Duties/role:
- Executing standard operational procedures, including infrastructure configuration, installation, and maintenance;
- Using infrastructure management tools to collect and report on load and performance statistics, and automating the provisioning, testing, and deployment of new and changed infrastructure;
- Reviewing system software updates and identifying those that merit action.
