Job Description
Renesas is seeking a motivated and experienced Staff Test Engineer to support test development activities for new products within the Performance Computing Power (PCP) business unit in Catania, Italy.
This role is a solid individual contributor position requiring hands-on expertise in ATE development, product debugging, and data analysis. The candidate will work closely with senior engineers to develop efficient and reliable test solutions, contributing to successful product bring-up and production ramp.
You will be involved in innovative power management products, including multiphase controllers, smart power stages, and 48v system power regulators.

Develop and support ATE test programs and hardware for analog, mixed-signal, and power management products

Contribute to test plan definition and implementation, ensuring coverage and efficiency

Execute product bring-up, characterization, and validation activities

Perform debug and failure analysis on ATE and bench setups

Analyze test data to improve yield, repeatability, and test robustness

Collaborate with Design, Product Engineering, and Operations teams to resolve technical issues

Support production ramp and sustaining activities

Contribute to test cost optimization and test time reduction initiatives

Follow and apply established DFT and test methodologies
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering (Master’s is a plus)

5–8+ years of experience in ATE test engineering or related field

Experience with ATE platforms (Advantest 93K, Teradyne, SPEA, or similar)

Basic knowledge of DFT concepts and production test flows

Experience in debugging analog and mixed-signal systems

Familiarity with lab equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter, spectrum analyzer)

Programming skills in C/C++, Python, or similar

Understanding of data analysis and basic statistical methods

Additional Information
The expected annual pay range for this position is €47,000–€64,000. Please note that the final offer will depend on factors such as geographic location, relevant experience, and the candidate’s skill set. This role is also eligible for a bonus.
