We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to lead our accounting and tax compliance activities in Italy while supporting wider EMEA finance initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who combines strong technical accounting expertise with leadership skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
As Accounting Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring statutory compliance, delivering accurate financial reporting, managing local treasury activities, and leading a high-performing accounting team.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Lead all accounting operations for the Italian legal entity.
- Ensure accurate month-end and year-end financial reporting under applicable accounting standards.
- Manage general ledger activities and maintain the integrity of accounting records.
- Oversee the preparation and filing of statutory financial statements.
- Review and validate financial data transferred between ERP and reporting systems.
- Payroll Management: Direct the processing of employee salaries, benefits, social security contributions, and withholding taxes. Oversee time and attendance tracking, manage calculations for severance pay (TFR) and complementary pension funds, and ensure the timely submission of all statutory declarations (including Uniemens, CU, Modello 770, and INAIL autoliquidazione)
Tax & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with Italian tax regulations, including VAT and Corporate Income Tax requirements.
- Coordinate statutory audits and support relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities.
- Manage legal and corporate governance requirements, including Board and Shareholder meetings.
Planning & Analysis
- Prepare annual forecasts, tax estimates, budgets, and cost center plans.
- Analyze monthly financial performance against budget and forecast.
- Support decision-making through insightful financial analysis and reporting.
Treasury & Banking
- Manage local treasury activities in line with corporate policies.
- Maintain relationships with banking partners and coordinate financing requirements, bank guarantees, and other treasury-related matters.
Leadership
- Lead, develop, and coach the accounting team.
- Drive employee performance, engagement, and professional development.
- Prioritize workload and resources to ensure deadlines and objectives are achieved.
Projects & Continuous Improvement
- Participate in EMEA-wide finance initiatives and transformation projects.
- Contribute to ERP implementations and process improvement programs.
- Maintain and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
What We're Looking For:
Required Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of accounting experience in a corporate or international environment.
- At least 4 years of people management experience.
- Strong knowledge of Italian accounting standards, statutory reporting, and tax regulations.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Fluent Italian and strong English communication skills.

- Exposure to ERP systems such as SAP and corporate reporting tools.
