Vishay Italy is currently seeking applicants for Power Semiconductor Simulation & Modeling Engineer. In this position, you will support the development and optimization of advanced power semiconductor technologies and packaging solutions for automotive and industrial applications and you will work closely with R&D, package development, device engineering, reliability, manufacturing, and system/application engineering teams to support the design, simulation, validation, and optimization of Si, SiC, and GaN power devices and power modules.

Vishay Semiconductor Italiana spa is a site focused on the design, development and production of power diodes and power modules. There are around 300 employees currently working in Italy, and this number is constantly growing due to our expansion plans.
The position will be located at our Design Center in Catania.
What you will be doing:

Support modeling and simulation activities for power semiconductor devices and power modules.

Develop and validate electrical and electro-thermal models for power dies, packages, and modules.
-
Support SPICE-level modeling activities for Si, SiC, and GaN power devices.
-
Contribute to system-level simulations for power electronics applications such as: traction inverters; on-board chargers; DC/DC converters; industrial power converters.
-
Support simulation correlation activities between modeling results and laboratory measurements.
-
Support modeling and simulation activities for power semiconductor devices and power modules.
-
Develop and validate electrical and electro-thermal models for power dies, packages, and modules.

Support SPICE-level modeling activities for Si, SiC, and GaN power devices.

Contribute to system-level simulations for power electronics applications such as: traction inverters; on-board chargers; DC/DC converters; industrial power converters.

Collaborate with package, device, and system engineering teams to optimize electrical and thermal performance.

Analyze thermal behavior, switching performance, parasitic effects, and power losses in semiconductor packages and modules.

Support the development of simulation methodologies and model validation flows.

Contribute to laboratory validation activities and test setup definition.

Support the evaluation of new package technologies and power module architectures for SiC and GaN applications.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, reliability, manufacturing, and application engineering.Collaborate with package, device, and system engineering teams to optimize electrical and thermal performance.

What you will bring along:

At least 3 years of experience in semiconductor simulation, power electronics, or related R&D activities.

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Physics, or related technical field.

Good knowledge of power semiconductor devices including: MOSFETs; IGBTs; SiC devices;GaN devices.
-
Experience with electrical and electro-thermal simulations of semiconductor devices and power modules.
-
Familiarity with SPICE-level modeling methodologies.
-
Good understanding of power package and power module technologies.
-
Knowledge of thermal behavior, switching characteristics, parasitics, and power losses in power electronics systems.
-
Familiarity with simulation tools such as:,Ansys; Plecs; Simetrix; or equivalent simulation environments.

Programming skills in MATLAB/Python.

Basic understanding of laboratory validation and correlation activities.
-
Ability to work in multidisciplinary R&D environments.
