Global Workplace Operations Specialist
Position
MSC Technology is looking for an experienced Global Workplace Operations Specialist to join its Global IT Workplace Operations team in Chennai, India.
Reporting to the Modern Workplace Coordinator, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and operating the company’s global workplace environment, ensuring effective incident resolution, application support, endpoint management, and a high-quality end-user experience.
The role will act as an escalation point for Local IT teams and the Global Service Desk, working closely with Global Workplace Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and external technology vendors to troubleshoot complex issues, support application releases and changes, and continuously improve workplace services.
This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in end-user computing and workplace technologies, strong troubleshooting capabilities, a service-oriented mindset, and a passion for technology and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide operational support for the global workplace environment, including Microsoft Windows 11, Microsoft 365, Citrix, Printix, PCs, peripherals, and mobile devices.
- Resolve incidents escalated by Local IT teams and the Global Service Desk, independently troubleshooting hardware, software, operating system, and application-related issues.
- Track incidents and service requests through resolution, identifying and escalating situations requiring urgent attention when necessary.
- Support the administration, testing, installation, deployment, release, and change management of workplace applications and services.
- Work closely with Global Workplace SMEs and third-party technology vendors such as Microsoft and Dell to investigate and resolve complex technical issues.
- Support and train Local IT teams and the Global Service Desk, sharing technical expertise and maintaining procedures, knowledge base articles, and “How-to” documentation.
- Contribute to IT asset management and IT service management activities in line with ITIL standards and company processes.
- Support workplace optimization, automation, continuous improvement initiatives, and ad hoc projects to enhance service quality, efficiency, and end-user experience.
Qualifications & Experience
- Approximately 5 years of professional experience in Workplace Operations, End-User Computing, IT Support, or similar enterprise IT environments.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows 11, Microsoft 365, PCs, peripherals, mobile devices, and end-user workplace technologies.
- Solid experience in end-user support, technical troubleshooting, incident resolution, system optimization, and application deployment.
- Good understanding of IT Service Management and IT asset management processes, preferably following ITIL practices.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Intune and endpoint management technologies is considered an advantage.
- Experience with ServiceNow or equivalent ITSM platforms and enterprise printing solutions such as Printix is considered an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, customer-service, organizational, communication, and teamwork skills, with the ability to work autonomously in complex environments.
- Proactive and results-oriented mindset, curiosity and passion for technology, willingness to learn, and professional proficiency in written and spoken English.

The position will be classified within the Employee category, at one of the C2, C3, B1 or B2 levels under the Italian Metalworking Industry National Collective Bargaining Agreement (CCNL Metalmeccanico Industria).
The classification level and any additional remuneration components supplementing the base salary will be determined based on an assessment, carried out during the selection process, of objective and neutral criteria such as, by way of example, the candidate’s professional experience, technical skills, level of autonomy and the responsibilities required by the role.
