Join a multidisciplinary team working on innovative in-vitro diagnostic (IVD) systems based on optical and fluorescence detection technologies. As a Junior Optoelectronics / Hardware Engineering Trainee, you will contribute to the development of optoelectronic architectures, including light excitation, optical path, and signal detection.
What a typical day looks like:
-
Support design and development of optoelectronic systems for fluorescence-based devices.
-
Contribute to excitation source selection (LED vs laser, wavelength matching, stability).
-
Assist optical chain definition (filters, dichroic mirrors, lenses).
-
Support sensor and detection electronics (photodiodes, CMOS, APD, PMT exposure).
-
Participate in lab activities (optical measurements, SNR evaluation, debugging).
-
Contribute to signal acquisition and basic processing (ADC, filtering, calibration).
-
Collaborate with hardware, firmware, mechanical, and system engineers.
-
Prepare technical documentation and reports.
-
Participate in design reviews.
Here is some of what you’ll need:
-
Bachelor or Master in Electronic, Biomedical, or Optoelectronics Engineering.
-
Basic knowledge of analog electronics and sensors.
-
Interest in optical systems or photonics.
-
Familiarity with lab instruments (oscilloscope, DAQ).
-
Interest in medical devices and IVD technologies.
