We're an end-to-end provider of premium products and services for global sport and media operators.
We push boundaries every day to offer the most reliable, scalable, engaging end-to-end offerings that continually meet and exceed fan expectations and maximise client value. Underpinned by data we're able to determine the best experiences to drive business growth. Deltatre provides strategy, planning, consultancy across all stages of our client's lifecycle.
This role is offered on an Italian employment contract. Candidates must be based in Italy as we are unable to support remote working from outside the country due to local employment and tax legislation.
This role sits within Deltatre's Vesper team - the integrated video platform that powers OTT streaming for major sports, media, and entertainment brands. Vesper delivers the end-to-end streaming stack behind some of the world's most-watched live and on-demand experiences, and the team combines platform engineering with the delivery discipline needed to ship at the scale live events require.
As Technical Project Manager, you will own the full lifecycle of technical and operational projects for one client - from initiation through delivery and launch. You will plan and coordinate cross-functional delivery across internal Deltatre teams and external partners, hold accountability for scope, timeline, and quality, and act as the single point of technical project coordination for the client relationship. The role rewards structural project judgement, calm delivery under change, and the discipline to keep governance and communication tight across time zones and languages.
Responsibilities
Project planning and delivery
-
Manage technical projects end-to-end for the client - from kick-off through delivery and launch, on time, within scope, and within budget
-
Work with internal Deltatre teams and external partners to define scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria
-
Develop and maintain project schedules, timelines, and milestone tracking; proactively manage dependencies
-
Translate technical requirements into actionable project plans with clear ownership and delivery dates
Risk and change management
-
Identify and mitigate project risks; ensure issues are resolved quickly and escalated when appropriate
-
Track and oversee delivery of Change Requests (CRs) with clear documentation and communication to all stakeholders
-
Anticipate delivery pressure points before they escalate to client-visible issues
Stakeholder and team leadership
-
Act as the primary point of contact between the client and Deltatre delivery teams
-
Lead and coordinate cross-functional delivery teams; manage priorities and resolve conflicts to maintain alignment on goals
-
Communicate credibly with both technical practitioners and senior stakeholders on both sides
-
Maintain visibility of delivery status with senior management through regular progress, risk, and performance reports
Governance, quality, and continuous improvement
-
Ensure all project outputs meet quality standards through clear governance and review processes
-
Coordinate with Vesper Programme Management colleagues to apply consistent project management principles and reporting standards
-
Contribute to process improvement - identify areas for efficiency and quality enhancement across the delivery function
You have delivered technical projects end-to-end before, and you know that the visible work (Gantt chart, status reports) sits on top of a much larger volume of invisible work (stakeholder alignment, risk anticipation, escalation calibration). You are calm under change, and you hold both technical detail and client-facing communication with the same steadiness. You are comfortable being the person the client calls when they need clarity, and the person the delivery team relies on to unblock what's stuck.

-

Who Thrives Here
Technical project management on the Vesper team runs at the intersection of streaming platform depth and client delivery under real commercial pressure. The client is watching the platform every day - major events, major moments - and the delivery decisions you make carry through to a live consumer audience. The work rewards project managers who care about the small details (the dependency that will surface in week 8, the change request that is actually three change requests in disguise) and who can hold the longer-arc view of how the client relationship evolves over quarters, not sprints.
A good Technical Project Manager on the Vesper team is calm under change without becoming passive, honest with the delivery team about what is at risk, and generous with credit when things go right. Deltatre works to be a place where each team member feels safe to bring their whole selves to work - the role rewards curiosity, humility, and steady judgement more than heroics.
Process and what to expect
Salary starts from of €45K at entry level rising to €60K for those with significant relevant experience. Where you land depends on your experience, technical background, and the stack you bring. If your expectations sit outside the range, tell us anyway —we're happy to have an open conversation. Internal progression is assessed through a structured process combining a technical assessment and a competency-based interview. The role falls under CCNL Commercio| D.Lgs. 96/2026.
Assessment stages:
-
Introductory conversation: a step for us to get to know each other better, and for us to answer all questions you might have around Deltatre and the Vesper team.
-
1-hour Combined Technical and Competency-Based Interview: we will deep dive on your technical project management experience - how you plan, run, and recover complex projects - combined with situational questions on how you deal with real-life scenarios at work.
If any of these formats would be difficult for you, tell us - we adjust regularly and can usually accommodate.
Accessibility and accommodation questions are welcome at any stage. Tell us what would work for you.
