We are looking for a Flight Software Engineer to contribute to the development of flight software for Small Satellite platforms and avionics systems (on-board computer, radio, attitude control systems, etc.).

About this vacancy

**Main Responsibilities** - Design and development of embedded software for avionics systems and satellite platforms - Management of the entire software lifecycle: requirements, development, integration, testing, and reporting - Configuration and customization of **Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS)** for OBC - Integration and testing of flight software on avionics and complete satellites - Support in defining and utilizing tools for performance analysis - Development of support tools (scripts, simulators, digital twins) - Collaboration with system and hardware teams for SW/HW integration - Support for software production deployment - Maintenance of in-orbit software and support for **Flight Operations** throughout the mission lifecycle

What we expect from you

General requirements

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related disciplines (equivalent experience considered)
2 years of software development experience on flight applications (OBC)
Good experience in software development using C and C++
Familiarity with RTOS and multi-thread software design techniques
Proficiency in using Git or other versioning systems
Familiarity with electronic laboratory instrumentation
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience with CI/CD tools (Bitbucket, Jenkins, SonarQube)
Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, Ruby)
Knowledge of communication interfaces and protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, SpaceWire)
Expertise in Cybersecurity
Experience with Machine Learning / AI
Excellent communication and collaboration skills in multidisciplinary teams
Italian C2, Fluent written and spoken English

What you can expect from us

The position includes a permanent contract, and the offered base gross annual salary (RAL) will not be less than €36,000, in line with the provisions set forth by the National Collective Labor Agreement for Commerce – Tertiary, Distribution, and Services.

TMC is committed to offering a competitive compensation package and, upon completing the selection process and evaluating the candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications, may propose a final RAL above the aforementioned level.

Consistent with our business model, the final compensation package also includes a direct profit-sharing component, an individual budget for skill development of €4,000 net annually, and an annual welfare credit. Further details will be provided during the selection process, in line with current company policies.
